Key Policies & Student Regulations
Read through our core academic policies covering withdrawal, make-up work, credit transfers, and your rights under FERPA.
To apply for a withdrawal, students must notify the Registrar's Office in writing or orally. The Registrar will document reasons and date of the request.
- Withdrawals during the drop/add period are eligible for a refund per the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
- A student may withdraw from a class and receive a "W" notation until the day before the final exam.
- Medical withdrawals require appropriate documentation via the "Withdrawal Form" on the World Academy website. An approved medical withdrawal records "I" for each course.
- Unsatisfactory academic performance after the deadline will not be accepted as grounds for withdrawal.
- Withdrawal during an academic dishonesty review does not protect a student from an appropriate grade being assigned.
Students unable to complete work by the end of the course may be granted an incomplete grade (I) with the instructor's approval, on a case-by-case basis.
3-Day Deadline: Make-up arrangements must be completed within three (3) days from the end of the course. Failure without administrative approval results in a failing grade.
Students may qualify to use up to 18 credits earned at other institutions. Speak to your admissions agent for details.
- Credits evaluated on a course-by-course basis for similar content and objectives.
- Only credits with a grade of "B" or higher will be accepted. Transfer is at the discretion of World Academy.
- Transfer of World Academy credits to another institution is at that institution's discretion.
- World Academy does not award credits for work experience or examinations.
Federal and State laws restrict the release of confidential student records. Students have the right to inspect their educational records and are protected from disclosure without written consent, except for subpoenaed court requests.
- Students must make written requests for transcripts and academic records.
- Requests by unauthorised third parties will not be honoured.
- Telephone requests for academic records will not be honoured.
This policy is designed to establish uniform parameters for the admission of students consistent with licensing authorizations of World Academy. All admissions criteria for academic programs are established in accordance with the standards of applicable licensing bodies.
